Finding a balance: the way forward

In a world where digital interactions dominate, finding balance between online and offline life is key to fostering real connections, improving mental well-being, and redefining success.

Here’s how young people can navigate this paradox effectively:

1. Prioritizing Real-Life Connections

Be intentional about offline relationships – Instead of just texting, make time for face-to-face interactions. Whether it’s grabbing coffee, attending social events, or simply spending quality time with family, real-life moments create deeper bonds than virtual ones.

Engage in community activities – Volunteering, joining clubs, or participating in group activities can help build a strong support network beyond social media.

2. manage excessive social media use.

Create ‘no-phone’ zones – Avoid checking your phone during meals, before bed, or during personal conversations to enhance focus and engagement.

Unfollow accounts that trigger comparison – Curate social media feeds to follow pages that inspire, educate, or uplift rather than create anxiety.

3. Fostering Open Conversations

Normalize discussions about struggles – Mental health should not be a taboo topic. Encouraging open conversations with friends, mentors, or therapists can create a culture of support rather than silent suffering.

Support rather than compete – Social media often promotes comparison, but shifting towards uplifting others and celebrating personal growth can reduce stress and isolation.

4. Redefining Success and Self-Worth

Shift from external validation to self-fulfillment – Instead of measuring success by likes, followers, or online popularity, focus on personal growth, skills, and real-world achievements.

Find purpose beyond social media – Engage in activities that bring intrinsic joy, whether it’s learning new skills, reading, writing, or exploring creative hobbies.

Set personal goals – Define success on your own terms rather than based on what social media portrays as "ideal."

5. Cultivating Emotional

Practice gratitude – Focusing on real-life blessings rather than digital validation fosters a sense of contentment.

In as much as we want certain changes to be enforced to ease suffering and curtail the rate of  poverty in the country, we also have to let ourselves to be of service to mankind. How? by letting this change we crave for begin with us. ...

WHAT DO YOU CALL TREND?

In simple terms, a trend is something many people are doing or following at a particular time.. One way or the other, each and every one of us have joined one trend or the other blindly.  This particular trend I want to talk about today is the habit of dropping wastes through a moving vehicle. Yes! Many people see it as nothing and normal. I understand we live in a country where we don't get punished by doing certain things the wrong way. Yet, in the end it comes with health issues that  backfires over time indirectly.  How do you feel each time you sit in a vehicle, probably going somewhere or traveling a distance and after buying all the assorted to eat and drink, you ended up flinging it out through the window in the middle of nowhere? Bros, sis, Come closer I want to whisper something to your ears.. it is wrong! Very very wrong. Stop it. And educate others about it as well. It wouldn't take you anything to either tie it and keep it in the vehicle or hold it and ...

The Proper Way to Wash Your Hair for Healthy and Beautiful Strands Washing your hair may seem like a simple routine, but doing it the right way can make a big difference in maintaining healthy, strong, and shiny hair. Here’s a step-by-step guide to properly washing your hair: 1. Pre-Wash Preparation Brush Your Hair: Before getting into the shower, detangle your hair with a wide-tooth comb or a soft-bristle brush.
